The Web is continuing to develop into the ultimate information repository of the world. Users publish and share textual documents as well as multimedia data on various Websites including social network systems and Web portals. With tons of data created everyday on the Web, there is a growing interest in developing and applying data mining and data analysis techniques to discover useful knowledge from user-generated data on the Web. This workshop on Web Data Mining and Applications (WDMA 2016) aims to contribute to the development of data mining algorithms and data analytics applications for user-generated data on the Web.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Review analysis - developing and applying text mining techniques on user reviews, for user profiling, product recommendation, and etc.
Personalized knowledge graph for individual user - Customizing knowledge graph by providing users with quick access to relevant and targeted information about entities of user interests
Semantic processing - developing algorithms for semantic processing of Web data to enhance the effectiveness of information retrieval.
Finding influential users in social network systems - Modelling information propagation and user behaviour in social networks to discover influential users.
Human computation and crowdsourcing: developing data driven approaches to exploring engagement mechanisms and motivations, quality management, etc.
Real-time big web data analytics - developing cloud-based stream data processing algorithms and applications for big web data analytics in real time.
The conference proceedings, including all accepted papers, will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Authors should avoid the use of non-English fonts to avoid problems with printing and viewing the submissions. All accepted papers MUST follow strictly the instructions for LNCS Authors. Springer LNCS offers style files and information.Submissions must be original (not previously published and not under review in other forums). This applies to papers on all tracks of the conference. Authors are advised to interpret these limitations strictly and to contact the PC chairs in case of doubt. Each accepted paper must be accompanied by at least one full registration, and an author is expected to present the paper at the conference, otherwise, the paper will be removed from the proceedings and the LNCS digital library. The review process is single-blinded. There is no need for authors to mask their names and affiliations in the manuscript. The maximal length of the paper is 12 pages.
All papers in the research and industrial tracks must be submitted to the following email: wdma2016@gmail.com.
