Student Travel Award

Overview:

APWeb 2015 provides 20 student travel awards to support the participation of student authors in the conference. The travel award for each student is 1,000 RMB cash.

Qualifications:

The student applicant must be a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate program in an university or an institute. The student must be the major speaker of at least one presentation on APWeb 2015 conference in research, industrial or demo track. Each presentation can thus only support one applicant for the student travel award application. The applicant must be supported by his/her supervisor, with supervisor's signature on the application form.

Application and Collection Procedure:

The student applicant must submit the application with completely filled form (available here), to the travel award co-chairs, Prof. Xiaohui Yu (xhyu05@gmail.com) and Prof. Wenjie Zhang (wenjie.jane@gmail.com). Please use "APWeb 2015 student travel award" as the subject of the email. Applications not following the right submission procedure will not be considered. After evaluations on the applicants, the co-chairs will send notification to the students on approval or rejection of the applications. Students winning this award is going to collect the cash, by presenting their valid studentship proof at the conference site.

Selection Criteria:

The award winners are selected based on the following criteria: 1) the student is the speaker of presentation on the conference; 2) the student has a good academic research record; 2) the student is from a less-presented university or institute on international research conference; 3) the student's conference attendance is fully supported by his/her supervisor.

Timeline:

The application submission deadline is June 30, 2015. The notifications will be sent by July 15, 2015.
